For 2-layers Reception Desks

Top layer :Between 1100mm-1200mm(43inch-47inch).

We usually build it 1200mm(47inch) height.

Because it is a comfortable height for visitor to fill paper file in front of reception counter. This height will protect the privacy of receptionist well also.

Second layer: This part is for the receptionist to work. It’s typically between 760mm-850mm (30inch-33inch). We usually build it 760mm (30inch).Because it’s comfortable height for sitting working and using computer. If the height more than 850mm then the receptionist will feel tired easily for long time working.

For 1-layers Short Reception Desks

Height: Between 750mm-950mm (30inch-37inch).

Many reception desk designs just have 1 layer. This kind makes it easy for the receptionist to make eye contact with clients, making the company seem more open.This is very important for a company culture.

The working area is still 760mm(30inch)-850mm(33inch) and there will be some taller part for decoration.

For above is the usually reception desk height, there is some front desk height need to be friendly for disabled people in many country.It is a policy or law we have to comply. Usually we called this an ADA reception desk. It need strictly comply with ADA rules for example in USA.

The height of reception top for disabled people won’t taller than 860mm(34inch). By this way if people with wheelchair it could still work on the reception counter comfortable without any inconvenience.

Besides, it also need at least 27inch height for feet and wheel chair space under the working top.
